A woman believes she appears a decade younger after undergoing a procedure to address saggy eye bags. Dot Marr, aged 60, has praised the cosmetic surgery as the best decision she has made, following a period of contemplation. She was convinced to proceed after being startled by her recent bus pass photo in July, which she felt made her look older and fatigued.

Having invested nearly £8,000 in the surgery, Dot now perceives herself as looking approximately 10 years younger and feeling like a transformed individual. The two-hour operation involves the removal of excess skin, fat, or muscle from the upper or lower eyelids to correct drooping or sagging, an issue that had been bothering Dot for a while.

As a mother living in Edinburgh, Dot shared, “Eye bags are hereditary, I have had them since I was a child. They have been a source of concern for most of my adult life and worsened as I aged.” Dot, who recently went through a stressful divorce, decided to undergo the procedure last month as a personal gift to herself, feeling that the bus pass picture was the final straw. She had her hooded eyelids and eye bags addressed, and has since taken a new, more glamorous bus pass photo.

Reflecting on her decision, Dot expressed, “I recently separated from my husband, who caused me stress and made me feel like I aged. A few months ago, while out with my daughter, I had her take a photo for my bus pass, and upon seeing it, I barely recognized myself. I was shocked at how old and tired I looked, and that’s when I decided to go for the surgery.”

The procedure took place at the Cosmedicare branch in Polwarth, Edinburgh, just before Dot’s 60th birthday. She now believes she appears closer to 50. Describing the experience, Dot stated, “This was a 60th birthday gift to myself and a celebration of moving on from that relationship. The eye bags were becoming quite prominent, and I felt that waiting longer might affect my eyesight.”

Dr. Will Anderson, a consultant plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon at Cosmedicare, commented on the successful outcome of Dot’s upper and lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer. He noted that the results were natural and had significantly rejuvenated her appearance.
