Nigel Farage has been criticized by a senior union leader for not genuinely caring about the working class in Britain. TUC General Secretary, Paul Nowak, described Farage as a “false patriot” who manipulates divisions in society for his own political motives.

Nowak called on the Labour party to challenge Farage and demonstrate its support for ordinary citizens. He accused Farage of peddling deceptive solutions to the country’s challenges while undermining the nation and its working class.

The TUC leader highlighted Reform’s opposition to enhanced worker protections in the Employment Rights Bill and accused Farage of advocating for a healthcare system akin to the US model, which could replace the NHS. Farage has clarified that while he explores NHS funding mechanisms, he intends to maintain its free services for all.

Nowak, whose grandfather immigrated to Britain from Poland during World War II, expressed concern over the current immigration discourse, labeling it as “depressing and dangerous.” He condemned Farage for fostering divisions and utilizing scapegoats for his political advantage, emphasizing the importance of the government aligning with working-class communities.

Nowak stressed the need for fairness and decency among the British public, noting their likely apprehension over neighbors feeling threatened by the divisive rhetoric propagated by figures like Farage.
