A woman’s death in Nottinghamshire has prompted a murder investigation, with police establishing separate cordons in various locations across the area. The incident unfolded in Carlton, where officers responded to a safety concern call at 10:07 pm, leading to the arrest of a 40-year-old man. Sadly, a woman in her 20s was discovered deceased at the scene.

Authorities are now treating the case as a murder inquiry and are urging any potential witnesses to step forward with relevant information. Forensic teams have been deployed to the scene on Westdale Lane West and Woodborough Road. Multiple cordons remain in place at Westdale Lane East, Westdale Lane West, and Mapperley/Oxclose Lane in Bestwood. Police have reassured the public that there is no general threat, characterizing the incident as isolated.

Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, heading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends. He emphasized the ongoing efforts of detectives to swiftly advance the case, encouraging anyone present at the scene or possessing relevant footage to contact the authorities. Additional police patrols have been arranged in the vicinity to support the investigation, with a focus on ensuring community safety and addressing any concerns that may arise.
