An American mother dubbed as the “worst ever” has been arrested and charged with sexual assault for allegedly giving birth to a child fathered by her daughter’s 14-year-old school dance companion. Robyn Polston, aged 43, was apprehended by the Washington Police Department on November 3. Legal documents assert that she is accused of delivering a baby in January, with the father believed to be her daughter’s teenage friend.
Polston is facing two charges of criminal sexual assault involving a victim between 13 and 17 years old, as well as two counts of possessing child pornography. In the event of a conviction, she could potentially serve up to 15 years in prison for each offense. Currently, she is being detained without bail and is scheduled for arraignment next month without having entered a plea.
Following the birth, authorities initiated an investigation based on a tip received. A probable cause affidavit states that detectives acquired the baby’s birth certificate on February 13, revealing that the infant shared the middle and last name of the alleged victim.
When questioned about the father’s identity, Polston informed officers that he was a man named Brian in his twenties, who had not been in contact since the birth. Subsequently, DNA samples were collected from Polston, the baby, and the teenager.
The genetic test results confirmed that the boy and Polston were indeed the biological parents, as detailed in the affidavit. It was also discovered that Polston had served as a chaperone at a school dance attended by the teenager and her daughter in May 2023.
Allegedly, the hairstylist provided the newborn with the same middle and last name as the purported victim. When confronted by authorities, Polston maintained that the father was a man named Brian in his twenties who disappeared shortly after the birth.
The affidavit mentions that the boy relocated out of the area soon after and later made visits in April and June 2024. The April visit coincided with roughly 40 weeks before Polston gave birth. Subsequently, the boy returned to Washington to live with another family.
A search warrant executed on Google accounts linked to the teenager’s mobile phone revealed sexually explicit material involving Polston and the minor. Assistant State’s Attorney Cassandra Mullikin reviewed the content and concluded that Polston had taken the images.
Prosecutors alleged that Polston and the minor used burner phones and disguised each other’s contact information under false names to evade detection. Moreover, there are claims that Polston tried to persuade the teenager to conceal evidence of their relationship.
Prosecutors sought her continued detention leading up to the trial, citing concerns that she may not comply with directives or refrain from further contact with the teenager. She is set to remain in custody until her court appearance on December 4.
