Virgin Media is rolling out a major upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels for free. The telecoms giant has partnered with Rakuten to introduce three FAST channels, providing viewers with additional drama, comedy, and sci-fi content.

The newly added channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462, featuring popular movies like The Big Short and Gosford Park. On Ch463, viewers can enjoy Rakuten TV Comedy with films such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship. Lastly, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 will cater to fans of science fiction content.

The upgrade is automatically available to Virgin TV 360 and Flex users, requiring no action from customers. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control for added convenience.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, emphasizing the value they bring to customers with a diverse range of entertainment options. With this enhancement, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enhancing their viewing experience.

While a monthly subscription fee is necessary for Virgin Media TV access, the enriched channel lineup surpasses the offerings of entirely free services.
