The Prime Minister affirmed the resilience of Britain while hosting the recipients of this year’s Pride of Britain Awards at Downing Street. Keir Starmer commended the extraordinary courage, valor, and community service of the winners, emphasizing their ability to inspire millions.

Attending the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises, the PM and his wife Victoria expressed admiration for the uplifting stories shared at the event. Acknowledging the remarkable achievements of individuals like Asha Ali Rage, who received the Special Recognition award for initiating Dream Chasers FC in Small Heath, the Prime Minister highlighted the positive impact of their actions.

Reflecting on the stories of the award winners, the Prime Minister emphasized the power of their actions to motivate others. He countered the notion of a broken Britain, asserting that most people are inclined to help one another when given the opportunity, showcasing a spirit of unity and compassion.

During a gathering at Number 10, the winners, accompanied by their families, engaged in discussions with Mr. Starmer and proudly displayed their newly acquired trophies. Notably, 12-year-old Child of Courage Luke Mortimer humorously expressed his aspirations of becoming the next deputy prime minister, prompting a lighthearted moment with the PM.

Pc Cameron King, along with Inspector Moloy Campbell and Pc Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield, received recognition for their bravery in confronting a sword-wielding attacker.
