A former TV news anchor, Angelynn ‘Angie’ Mock, is facing a first-degree murder charge after allegedly being found covered in blood at the scene where her elderly mother was fatally stabbed. Mock, 47, who previously worked for Fox 2 News in St. Louis, Missouri, was discovered outside her home with her mother, Anita Avers, who was found with multiple stab wounds. Anita, 80, a marriage and family therapist, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Mock, who had cuts on her hands, was also treated for injuries before being taken into custody. She is currently held on a $1 million bond in Sedgwick County Jail, with her charge listed as “active.” Authorities have not disclosed further details about the incident, described as a domestic dispute.

Neighbors recounted a disturbing encounter with Mock seeking help with blood on her hands and body. Emergency responders were informed that the incident involved self-defense. Mock, who transitioned from a media career to sales, was working at a data management software company at the time of her arrest.

Her career began as a sports reporter before achieving success at various news stations. The investigation is ongoing, and details about legal representation or entered pleas remain undisclosed.
