Millions of individuals are set to receive their benefit payments earlier this week courtesy of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Various benefits such as Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, and state pension may be affected depending on the usual payment schedule.

For those expecting payments on Thursday, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day, the funds will be disbursed earlier than usual on Christmas Eve due to bank holidays impacting DWP payments. Consequently, recipients receiving early payments will need to manage their finances until the next scheduled payment date.

In case of any delays in benefit payments, individuals are advised to reach out to the relevant office online, via phone, or their local JobCentre upon reopening. It’s important to note that helplines will remain closed on bank holidays and will resume operations on the next working day.

While most benefits are distributed by the DWP, Tax Credits and Child Benefit are administered by HMRC. Child Benefit payments, typically scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays, should remain unaffected by the holiday period. Refer to the list below for common benefit payments and their regular payment frequencies.
