Donald Trump is reportedly contemplating granting a Presidential pardon to P Diddy. The rapper and music mogul, who was sentenced to four years and two months in prison for two counts of transportation for prostitution, has been incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn since last September. Despite requesting a transfer to another prison, recent reports suggest that Trump is considering pardoning the musician, which would absolve him of the federal crime and restore his rights, including the ability to vote.

Sources indicate that there has been indecision within the White House regarding this potential pardon, with some advising against it. However, it appears that Trump will ultimately make the decision. The speculation was fueled by TMZ reporting that Diddy might have been released this week, but a spokesperson for President Trump has vehemently denied these claims, stating that there is no truth to the reports.

Although Trump previously mentioned that Diddy had asked for a pardon, he did not confirm whether he would grant the request. Efforts to obtain comments from Diddy’s legal team and representatives have been made, as they hope that a transfer to a lower-security prison, such as FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, will aid in his rehabilitation. Diddy, who is serving time under the Mann Act, could potentially be released in about three years, considering the time already spent in custody.

It is essential to note that any decisions regarding pardons or commutations ultimately rest with the President, as emphasized by the White House spokesperson. Despite the ongoing discussions and speculations, the final outcome remains uncertain.
