A man who suffered a severe injury in an accident involving a forklift has expressed his deep gratitude towards his wife for her extraordinary support.
Loren Schauers, who was only 18 years old when the harrowing incident occurred, had his lower body completely separated from him. Since then, Loren has been on a challenging journey of recovery as he adjusts to his new way of life.
The former laborer recently took to his Instagram account to publicly acknowledge his admiration for his wife, praising her for her immense assistance during his ordeal. In a post shared on Thursday, he revealed how she went above and beyond to help him with his computer issues.
Accompanied by a photo showing his wife working on the cables of a computer he had assembled, Loren expressed his gratitude, stating, “Watching my wife finish fixing my computer! I’m so thankful, thank you so much my love,” followed by affectionate emojis.
His appreciation for his spouse extended beyond the image, as he described her actions as “superhuman” in the caption, emphasizing her efforts to resolve the computer problems. He also shared images of their two cats and humorously mentioned their curious behavior.
Loren sustained the life-altering injury in September 2019, during a construction job mishap where a forklift veered off course and fell, trapping him underneath. Despite the massive weight of the vehicle and the subsequent amputation of his lower body, Loren managed to survive the traumatic incident.
In a candid statement, Loren disclosed that he was conscious throughout the accident, which resulted in the loss of mobility below his waist due to severe pelvic injuries. Now 24 years old, Loren is happily married to Sabia Reiche, who stood by him during the challenging recovery process, despite initial bleak prognosis from doctors.
Reflecting on the decision to undergo the amputation, Loren expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of his wife and family, stating that choosing to live was an easy decision given the circumstances.
