Bulgaria has been identified as the top destination for an affordable summer holiday in 2026, recommended for families seeking a bargain getaway. According to TravelSupermarket, Bulgaria leads the list with an average cost of £760 per person for a week-long, all-inclusive vacation. Following closely are Morocco at £852 and Malta at £862 per person for a seven-night stay.
TravelSupermarket’s analysis of family holiday searches from last October to recent weeks for travel between May and September 2026 revealed significant price variations among popular destinations. Bulgaria saw a £54 decrease per person, representing a 7% drop from the previous summer, while Cyprus emerged as the most expensive choice at £1,186 per person.
Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, secured the fourth spot on the list at £888 per person, maintaining similar prices to 2025. Turkey ranked 11th at an average of £1,057, with Greece following closely at £1,096. Croatia, priced at £1,046 per person, is the 10th cheapest destination this summer, with costs decreasing by 12% since the previous year.
For long-haul options, TravelSupermarket found that Cape Verde offers the best value at £1,247 per person, trailed by the United Arab Emirates at £1,297, the Dominican Republic at £1,664, and Mexico at £1,694 per person. Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, noted the attractiveness of Bulgaria as a cost-effective all-inclusive destination and highlighted the continued affordability of Tunisia and Morocco. Additionally, he praised the price drop in Croatia, making it more accessible for families.
