An expert from British Gas has shared a clever tip on how to keep your home warm without turning on the central heating.
Jessica Rawstron, a smart energy engineer, recommends leaving your oven door open after cooking to utilize the residual heat escaping from the appliance.
Explaining the idea, Jessica said, “Once you take out dinner from the oven, instead of closing the door, keep it open to allow the heat to slowly spread into your kitchen.
“This simple trick can help maintain warmth in your house while you enjoy your meal, but remember to keep children and pets away from the open oven door.”
British Gas has also recommended various winter preparation tips, such as sealing gaps around windows and doors to prevent draughts.
