Apple marks a significant achievement today as it reaches its 50th anniversary. The renowned tech giant was established on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Los Altos, California, utilizing Jobs’ parents’ house and garage to introduce their first product, the Apple 1.
The inception of the personal PC back then did not foreshadow the immense success that the brand would later achieve, making Apple one of the largest companies globally.
Initially focused solely on computers, Apple has diversified its offerings to include iconic products such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
The most popular product, the original iPhone launched in 2007, has rightfully claimed the top position. It has revolutionized communication, entertainment, payments, and photography through its integrated camera.
Ranked second is the iconic iPod, which revolutionized music listening with its promise of “1,000 songs in your pocket,” replacing bulky tape and CD players. Apple discontinued this line in May 2022.
Surprisingly, The Verge readers have voted Apple’s M1 chip into third place. This silicon has enhanced Apple’s PC performance significantly, offering improved efficiency.
