Amazon is set to release a new streaming device that outshines its current models with innovative features. The Fire TV Stick HD, priced at £39.99 and hitting the market later this month, offers a sleeker and more compact design, being 30% slimmer than its predecessor, making it easier to fit behind TVs and more convenient for on-the-go use.

One notable upgrade is the device’s power source, as it now draws power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter. Amazon highlighted this feature, stating that the new Fire TV Stick HD is their slimmest streaming device optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port.

Similar to other Fire TV Sticks, this new model provides quick access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. It also includes a user-friendly remote with Alexa voice search and quick-launch buttons for apps.

While the Fire TV Stick HD does not support 4K quality viewing, it offers full HD resolution, suitable for most households. Amazon boasts that the new device delivers significant speed enhancements compared to previous HD models, being over 30% faster on average, resulting in quicker start-up times and app loading.

Additionally, the Fire TV Stick HD comes with the latest Fire operating system, promising a cleaner interface, enhanced recommendations, and a more streamlined content discovery experience. Consumers can expect this device to be available in stores starting April 29th, priced at £39.99.
