The family of a young boy who was hurled from the 10th story of an art gallery six years ago has provided a significant update. The unnamed French child, then six years old, suffered a brain hemorrhage and multiple fractures in an assault at the Tate Modern in London. He sustained severe and life-altering injuries during the 30-meter fall when he was tossed by teenager Jonty Bravery in August 2019.

Recently, the family shared a touching update on the boy’s progress, revealing that he has achieved remarkable milestones and can now engage in activities like running, jumping, and swimming. Affectionately named the ‘Little Knight’ by his family, the boy challenged himself to cycle from his residence to the coast, a journey lasting 2.5 hours, which he successfully completed this summer. Although he is scheduled for another major surgery early next year, necessitating a two-month recovery period, he has regained the ability to run, jump, and swim.

Recalling their summer activities, the family mentioned how the boy practiced riding his tricycle with his father’s assistance due to the attached splints on the pedals hindering him from mounting and dismounting independently. Living a few kilometers from the seaside, they set a goal to have a beach picnic and return, which they accomplished after several training sessions. The family highlighted the boy’s improving memory skills, enabling him to interact more with other children. They also noted his growing maturity and relaxation ability, thanks to sessions with a psychomotor therapist.

Despite needing ten rehabilitation sessions weekly and being able to attend only half of his classes due to health requirements, the family is searching for a school that can accommodate his full schedule. They are prepared to relocate to ensure the boy’s ongoing progress, especially considering an upcoming two-month immobilization period in early 2026 to further enhance his recovery and reduce discomfort.

Expressing concern for his impending surgery, the family mentioned the surgeon’s confidence in the boy’s advancements to reassure him of the benefits and improved capabilities post-operation. The family shared these updates on a GoFundMe page created to support the boy’s recovery journey, which has gathered over £476,000 in donations.

At the time of the incident, Bravery, then 17 and residing in supported housing, was unsupervised and committed the act. He later pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison.
