Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero have ended their coaching relationship after collaborating for seven years. Ferrero began coaching Alcaraz when he was only 15 years old and played a pivotal role in his development as a successful player.
During their time together, Alcaraz achieved significant milestones, including winning six Grand Slam titles, attaining the number one ranking globally, and securing an Olympic silver medal. Ferrero, a former world number one and Grand Slam champion himself, played a crucial role in Alcaraz’s journey to success.
The decision to part ways came shortly after Ferrero and Samuel Lopez received the 2025 ATP Coach of the Year Award for their exceptional work with Alcaraz. Alcaraz made the separation public through a heartfelt social media post, expressing gratitude for the fruitful partnership and growth both on and off the court.
In response, Ferrero also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, reminiscing about their shared experiences and expressing pride in their accomplishments together. He thanked Alcaraz for the trust and highlighted the valuable lessons learned during their time working together.
Alcaraz continues to receive coaching from Samuel Lopez, who operates at Ferrero’s academy in Alicante. The specific reasons behind Ferrero’s departure from Alcaraz’s coaching team have not been disclosed by either party.
