Kira Cousins from Airdrie, Scotland, recently made headlines after deceiving her family into believing that a plastic doll was her newborn baby named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce. The elaborate ruse involved Kira wearing a fake baby bump for months and pretending to give birth alone. However, her scheme unraveled when her mother discovered the realistic Reborn doll in her bedroom.

Following the scandal, a GoFundMe page surfaced over the weekend, seemingly created by Kira, seeking financial support by claiming she was left destitute with no food, money, or shelter. The emotional plea on the page detailed her regret over the situation, expressing a desire for assistance in the form of even small donations for basic necessities.

Despite the fundraising efforts, Kira denied any involvement with the GoFundMe campaign when questioned by the Daily Record. She asserted that she did not have access to the account and had reported it to the authorities. GoFundMe confirmed they are monitoring the campaign, which has raised a modest sum of £20 thus far.

In a surprising turn of events, a friend of Kira’s family, who labeled her a “serial liar,” expressed disbelief at the fundraising attempt, indicating that a production company had even shown interest in creating a documentary about Kira. Meanwhile, Kira’s social media activity leading up to the faux birth included sharing baby scans, a gender reveal party, and posts featuring expensive baby items, all part of the elaborate charade.

Kira later admitted to fabricating the entire pregnancy and birth story, acknowledging the harm caused by her deception and expressing remorse for betraying the trust of her loved ones. She also defended those who believed the Reborn doll was a real baby, highlighting its lifelike features that could easily deceive observers.

The Mirror previously reported on suspicions raised by a close friend, Neave McRobert, who uncovered inconsistencies in Kira’s story, such as the absence of a crying baby in a video statement and the abrupt removal of baby-related content from chats. Neave shared screenshots of conversations with Kira, revealing the extent of the deception and the emotional impact on those who believed the elaborate hoax.

The saga surrounding Kira and the fake baby scandal continues to unfold, shedding light on the complexities of the situation and the repercussions of her actions.
