Well-known host Claudia Winkleman shared her candid thoughts on her involvement with the popular BBC show, Strictly Come Dancing, prior to confirming her departure from the series today.
Initially appearing on Strictly’s spin-off It Takes Two in 2004, she later co-hosted the Sunday results show with Tess Daly.
Transitioning to the Saturday evening slot in 2014 following Sir Bruce Forsyth’s exit, Claudia highlighted her positive experiences on the show during a podcast appearance last year, emphasizing the strong female presence behind the scenes.
She expressed her deep bond with the team, noting the longstanding relationships and shared life experiences within the production crew. Beyond Strictly, Claudia has also been a familiar face on British television through her work on various programs.
Today, Claudia and Tess surprised fans by announcing their joint departure from Strictly after a successful 15-year partnership. In an Instagram post, they expressed gratitude to the BBC and the show’s crew, acknowledging their decision to leave at this juncture.
Despite the emotional farewell, they hinted at continuing their “keep dancing” mantra even in more casual settings post-show. Strictly Come Dancing is scheduled to return to BBC One on Saturday evening.
