The Sidemen, a popular YouTube group, have revealed their intention to launch 15 new fried chicken eateries this year. The establishment of Sides came about in 2021 through a collaboration between The Sidemen and Hero Brands, a Scotland-based food franchise company. Starting with five locations in Essex, Manchester, London, Kent, Birmingham, and an international branch in Singapore, Sides now aims for a significant expansion across the UK. The plan includes new establishments in Scotland, Cardiff, and Liverpool, and a further push into Asia and the Middle East with upcoming openings in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and the UAE.

Managed by Aaron Moore-Saxton, Sides is aiming for substantial growth in 2026, capitalizing on the positive reception in the UK and growing demand globally. The group, consisting of KSI, Wroetoshaw, Miniminter, Vikkstar123, Zerkaa, Behzinga, and TBJZL, and boasting 22 million subscribers, expressed enthusiasm for the future expansion. The Sidemen emphasized their commitment to bold flavors, quality food, and shared experiences that transcend mere dining, promising an exciting journey ahead.

Sides’ move aligns with the trend of expanding chicken brands in the UK, with Popeyes, Wingstop, and Dave’s Hot Chicken also expanding their presence. Popeyes, supported by private equity firm TDR Capital, announced plans for continuous growth in the UK, targeting travel hubs with new restaurant openings. Similarly, Wingstop UK, acquired for approximately £400 million recently, has seen rapid expansion in the market.
