Canadian music icon and multi-talented artist Jann Arden, known for her music, acting, and writing, has a special spot near her property in Springbank, Alta., called “Jann’s road.” This secluded rural stretch has been a significant backdrop for Arden’s social media posts, showcasing her walks, beloved dogs, and personal reflections, including moments of heartache and joy. Recently, Arden shared happy photos with her partner and now-wife, Thordis Elva, an Icelandic author and advocate for digital rights and gender equality.
In a heartwarming announcement on Instagram, Arden revealed that she and Elva tied the knot on Aug. 15, 2026, with a picture of the couple on Jann’s road. The wedding was described by Arden as a “beautiful, kickass gathering with dear friends and family,” filled with magic and surreal moments.
The couple first met at a writers’ retreat in Iceland and got engaged on Dec. 31, 2025. The wedding was attended by notable guests, including former Icelandic first lady Eliza Reid and various Canadian celebrities and media personalities who shared their joy and congratulations online.
Elva, recognized for her advocacy work in gender equality and the #MeToo movement, was hailed as Iceland’s Woman of the Year in 2015. The couple humorously discussed their wedding plans on Arden’s podcast, emphasizing the importance of normalizing same-sex relationships and societal inclusivity.
Looking ahead, Arden and Elva plan to enjoy a honeymoon in Edinburgh, continuing their journey together with optimism and determination to promote love and acceptance in all aspects of life.
