David Malukas set the quickest practice lap time during the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy event in Markham. Malukas clocked in at 1:14.194 in the second practice session of the day, with qualifying scheduled for the evening.
Following Malukas, Alex Palou recorded the second-fastest time at 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger secured the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 on the Markham downtown road course.
The event faced delays as organizers had to cancel the initial track sessions due to incomplete course construction and pending safety inspections. This marked the first year that Markham hosted the race, a shift from its longstanding location at Toronto’s Exhibition Place since its inception in 1986.
Palou had also topped the time charts in the morning’s first practice session, completing the circuit in 1:14.9915.
