After the passing of Matthew Perry in 2023, fans were shocked to learn about his ketamine addiction, which contrasted with his beloved role as Chandler Bing on the iconic show “Friends.” Netflix is now set to unveil a comprehensive look at the late Canadian actor in a three-part docuseries titled “The One About Matthew Perry.”

The series will delve into Perry’s journey from a rising comedic talent to his famous portrayal on the NBC hit series. Featuring never-before-heard accounts from close associates, including his sister Mia Perry Bowick, a grief specialist who has openly shared her own experiences following Perry’s demise.

Bowick expressed in a statement that it took time for her to be prepared to recount her memories of loving Perry and understanding his complexities beyond his on-screen persona. Perry tragically passed away at the age of 54 due to a ketamine overdose in his backyard hot tub.

Several individuals have pleaded guilty to charges related to providing him with the drug, with Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who sold Perry ketamine, currently appealing his 30-month prison sentence. The upcoming docuseries on Netflix aims to offer a comprehensive view of Perry, shedding light on his private struggles and the legacy of honesty and advocacy he left behind.

The docuseries is scheduled to premiere on October 27.
