Lesley Joseph, a renowned actress known for her role in “Birds Of A Feather,” recently shared her feelings of immense guilt over not spending enough time with her grandchildren. Despite her illustrious six-decade career, she acknowledged at the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards in London that she could have been more attentive to her family life.
The 80-year-old, who has two children from a previous relationship, rarely discusses her family commitments but has now opened up about the regret she harbors for not meeting her children’s expectations as a grandmother. She revealed that her career often took precedence over family matters, confessing that she has missed out on experiences like the school run and babysitting due to her inability to turn down acting opportunities.
In a rare glimpse into her personal life, Lesley also reflected on the loss of her mother, emphasizing the enduring connection she feels with her despite the passage of time. Additionally, she recently disclosed the challenges she faces in maintaining a slim figure, citing the pressure to stay in shape for events like award ceremonies.
Apart from her role in “Birds Of A Feather,” Lesley has showcased her talent on stage in productions such as Sister Act: The Musical and The Addams Family. She is set to star in a production of Road in Manchester starting from February next year alongside comedienne Lucy Beaumont and former “Coronation Street” star Shobna Gulati.
