A young man’s life has been completely changed by winning £450,000 in a competition. James Manley, a 23-year-old software developer apprentice, decided to take a chance by spending £30 on raffle tickets during a pub quiz celebrating the end of his apprenticeship.

Upon learning that he had won nearly half a million pounds to buy his first home, James was overwhelmed with emotion. After working hard for five years and balancing his job and studies while living with his parents in Elephant and Castle, London, who have mobility issues, James was eager to have a place of his own.

The unexpected win came as a shock to James, who initially thought it was a work-related call. This was the third time James had entered the Tramway Path raffle, and this time luck was on his side. Overwhelmed by the news, James rushed home to share the incredible announcement with his family.

Despite initial skepticism from his parents and aunt, James confirmed the legitimacy of his win after meeting with the competition organizers, the Twenefour brothers. Opting to stay close to his loved ones, James decided to use the £450,000 to purchase a two-bedroom flat on the same street as his parents.

Reflecting on his win, James expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and encouraged others to take chances. Tramway Path is currently running another competition where the winner can choose between a two-bedroom apartment in Sidcup or £400,000 in cash.

The competition, open until November 17, offers tickets starting at £10 for 10 entries. Co-founder Daniel Twenefour shared that it is fulfilling to assist first-time buyers in getting onto the property ladder, especially in a challenging housing market for young individuals.
