An elderly landlord reportedly shot and killed a naked intruder who had broken into his residence, following a violent body-slam that left the intruder with broken legs on a concrete surface.
The 79-year-old landlord, a military veteran, bravely defended himself when the intruder entered a residential building on Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles, USA. Witnesses, including women who were present during the incident, mentioned that the veteran rushed to their aid upon hearing their screams.
According to witnesses, the nude intruder lifted the elderly man and forcefully slammed him onto the concrete driveway, prompting the landlord to respond by firing several shots in self-defense.
Captain Warner Castillo of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stated that witnesses saw the suspect lift and slam the 79-year-old man onto the ground, leading to the landlord shooting the suspect three times in what he perceived as self-defense.
The elderly landlord, described by local residents as a “very sweet” and “nice man,” was immediately taken to the hospital after the altercation, with his current condition remaining undisclosed.
Fortunately, the two women who alerted authorities were unharmed. An eyewitness recalled hearing the initial chaos and mistaking it for a possible house fire upon seeing the naked intruder. The witness stated that she heard gunshots after noticing the man’s presence.
The same witness mentioned that the landlord fired two additional shots after the intruder fell to the ground, explaining that the intruder had trespassed through their gate, leading to the gunfire.
CCTV footage captured the naked intruder wandering the neighborhood before the incident. A video from a local Ring doorbell camera showed the intruder approaching a home’s front door, grabbing a sign, and proceeding down the street.
Another witness disclosed that the intruder attempted to access the property where the confrontation occurred upon noticing an open gate. The witness stated that the intruder had been pacing on the sidewalk before running toward the open gate.
