Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season comes to a close. The young British tennis star concluded her season early in October due to health reasons.

Raducanu’s journey this season was filled with ups and downs. She secured notable victories at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her position as the top-ranked British player. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the end of the season, which became apparent at the Ningbo Open where she required medical attention and lost in the opening round.

After grappling with various obstacles, Raducanu made the decision to end her season prematurely but announced that she would continue working with coach Francisco Roig in 2026. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her last two tournaments of the year ranked 29th, casting doubts on her aspiration to be in the top 32. With no further ranking points to add post-withdrawal, she awaited confirmation on achieving this milestone.

As the season wraps up, Raducanu can now breathe a sigh of relief, finishing the year as the world No. 29. Unless she faces tough challenges early in the next season, she is on track to be seeded in Melbourne.

In early October, Raducanu set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open, emphasizing the importance of a higher ranking for better tournament opportunities. She also highlighted the significance of being a role model for young players, stressing the importance of maintaining a positive attitude on and off the court.

Currently, Raducanu is the sole British player within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka holding the top spot. Sky has announced a price reduction on its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering extensive live sports coverage for the upcoming season.
