A man named Wayne Broadhurst, aged 49, was fatally stabbed in Uxbridge, with two others sustaining injuries in what authorities have labeled as a “senseless act of violence.” The suspect, who entered the UK in a lorry and subsequently obtained asylum in 2022, is not residing in Home Office accommodation as previously speculated on social media.
The Metropolitan Police disclosed that the suspect resides in a private residential setting. The Home Office expressed condolences for the impacted individuals and emphasized the need for the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrators are held accountable.
The incident took place at Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge on Monday, where the victims were attacked. The casualties include a deceased 49-year-old man, a 45-year-old man with severe injuries, and a 14-year-old boy with non-life-threatening wounds.
Law enforcement clarified that the incident is not linked to terrorism and is exploring the possible connection between the suspect and the victims. A 22-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Eyewitness footage captured the suspect being pursued by police officers, eventually leading to his apprehension. A neighbor described the deceased victim as a regular dog walker and expressed shock over the tragic event.
A vigil was held by a crowd of around 100 individuals near the crime scene, with emotional tributes paid to the victim. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from sharing sensitive information online and to cooperate with the ongoing investigation to provide any valuable details.
