Former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson and her partner, professional dancer Gorka Marquez, have evolved as a couple since meeting on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017. They are now parents to six-year-old Mia and two-year-old Thiago, and have launched a new podcast called Lost in Translation.

In an interview with OK! magazine, Gemma and Gorka discussed their podcast content and shared insights into each other’s annoying habits. They engage in weekly debates about their grievances and also delve into cultural differences between Spanish and English.

Food preferences have been a significant point of contention for the couple, with Gemma mentioning her love for dishes like cheese pie and chippy tea with gravy, which Gorka finds repulsive. Conversely, Gorka’s fondness for Spanish cured meat does not sit well with Gemma.

Despite their differences, they acknowledge the attraction in their contrasting personalities. Gorka, a self-proclaimed perfectionist, contrasts with Gemma’s more laid-back attitude, as evidenced by their differing approaches to tasks like folding socks.

Currently, Gorka is involved in the Spanish version of Strictly Come Dancing as a panel judge, a departure from his previous role as a celebrity partner on the BBC show. Despite his absence on screen, the family considers watching the show a cherished tradition leading up to Christmas.

Their children seem to be following in their father’s footsteps, displaying musical talents at a young age. Mia is passionate about dancing, while Thiago shows a knack for singing in tune, particularly enjoying performances from The Greatest Showman.

Listeners can tune in to the Lost In Translation podcast on various platforms such as the Rayo app, Apple, Amazon Music, Spotify, and other podcast streaming services.
