Mohamed Salah is reportedly feeling unhappy amidst Liverpool’s recent struggles, as indicated by former Chelsea and Leeds striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Hasselbaink suggested that Salah, who scored his first goal in over a month during the defeat to Brentford, is finding it challenging to adapt to a dip in form and a decreased reliance on him by his teammates.

The Egyptian forward has only managed to score four goals in 13 appearances this season, a far cry from his impressive tally of 34 goals and 23 assists at the same point last season. Liverpool, who clinched a title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge, have experienced a downturn in form this season, suffering four consecutive defeats in the league.

Hasselbaink believes that Slot is still in the process of determining his strongest lineup following significant transfers in the summer. He highlighted various issues within the team and mentioned that Salah needs to come to terms with the changing dynamics at Anfield, where other players are stepping up to take on more responsibility.

According to Hasselbaink, Liverpool’s defensive stalwart, Van Dijk, is not performing at his peak, while other players like Konate, Kerkez, and Bradley are still adjusting. He pointed out the presence of a new No. 10 in the midfield, necessitating a shift in playing style. Additionally, Hasselbaink noted that Salah’s role as the main player has shifted, with newcomers like Ekitike also vying for opportunities.

The experienced forward emphasized that new signings often strive to prove their worth and earn their place in the team, creating a situation where the team dynamics feel unsettled. Hasselbaink acknowledged the challenge facing Slot in restoring balance to the team amidst their current struggles.
