Noel Clarke, famous for his role in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, including two charges of sexual assault, as declared by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The British actor and filmmaker, aged 50, gained prominence for portraying Mickey Smith on the BBC show between 2005 and 2010. In addition to the sexual assault charges, Clarke is also facing one count of exposure and three counts of voyeurism. In legal terms, voyeurism refers to the act of observing or recording someone engaging in a private activity without their consent, usually for personal gratification.
The alleged incidents involving Clarke are reported to have occurred from 2007 to 2016 and are based on complaints lodged by five women. These charges surface five years following a public exposé by The Guardian in 2021, which disclosed claims of sexual harassment, groping, and bullying made by 20 women against Clarke. The accusations included reports of inappropriate touching and harassment on the set of “Doctor Who,” all of which Clarke vehemently denied.
As per The Guardian, the recent legal charges were pressed following an investigation initiated in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work as a writer and actor in the teen crime drama films “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), which delved into themes of drug abuse, bullying, and violence in London’s streets. He also directed “Adulthood” and directed and produced “Brotherhood.” Clarke’s diverse on-screen portfolio includes appearances in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
