A six-year-old girl sustained a brain injury when a playground ride malfunctioned during a birthday party in Ulan-Ude city, located in Russia’s Siberia region. The incident occurred as three girls were seated on a carousel, and a metal part in the shape of a tree dislodged and struck one of the children, rendering her unconscious. The other girls quickly left the Kovboy play center where the accident took place.
Following the incident, the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal investigation into the matter. A statement released by the committee mentioned that a significant piece of the carousel structure fell on the young girl, leading to injuries severe enough to require hospitalization. Local reports confirmed that the girl suffered a traumatic brain injury and concussion, necessitating medical attention. Those found responsible for the dangerous ride could potentially face up to two years of imprisonment.
In a separate unfortunate incident, tributes were offered for a 12-year-old boy named Logan Carter, who tragically passed away after falling from a roundabout at a playground with a history of accidents. The incident occurred at Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, Cheshire. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Logan succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reports indicated that Logan was thrown from the roundabout within the play park, with local claims suggesting the use of an e-bike to spin the ride.
In a heartfelt statement, Logan’s family described him as a beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, cousin, and friend known for his infectious personality and warm smile. They highlighted his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him, making each day brighter. The family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received during their time of mourning as they come to grips with the loss of their cherished “blue-eyed boy.”
