An endearing canine was abandoned and left on the streets to perish following severe mistreatment from its previous owner. The dog, known as Juni, was discovered shivering by the roadside by rescuer Lauren Daigle, who has taken to social media to share the heart-wrenching tale of the poor pooch.
Lauren, a resident of Nebraska in the US, has dedicated herself to seeking justice for Juni after uncovering the immense suffering the dog had endured. In a poignant TikTok video, she disclosed: “I came across an abandoned dog on the road. Little did we realize that she had been shot twice in the head, emaciated but still alive.”
Struggling to hold back tears, she continued: “While driving down the highway today, I found a stray dog. I rushed her to the vet due to bleeding from her mouth. The vet confirmed she had been shot, narrowly missing her brain and eye.”
Fortunately, since her rescue, Juni has been welcomed into a caring home where she can finally encounter the compassion humans are capable of. The caption accompanying the video states: “We are aware of more details than we can disclose at present. She now has a name.”
“Now she possesses a bed. Now she understands love. Her name is Juni. And she is surviving for every voiceless animal that couldn’t.”
Lauren has alerted the authorities about the situation, and the previous owners have been identified. She also mentioned, “Yesterday, she wagged her tail, brightening my day. I am eager to witness the joy return to her eyes. We have met with the breeder, identified the previous owner, compiled our evidence, and are preparing to present it to the sheriffs in both counties as a first step.”
