Former “This Morning” personality Richard Madeley impressed audiences by winning a remarkable £10k on Celebrity Catchphrase at the last second. Participating alongside comedian Axel Black and radio host Sian Welby, Richard teamed up with host Stephen Mulhern to raise funds for charity in a celebrity edition of the popular game show.

After triumphing over Axel and Sian in previous rounds, Richard entered the final 60-second challenge, where he had to tackle questions about famous expressions. Progressing through the rounds, he secured £2.5k and £5k on the first two rows before tackling the third row, featuring box number 11.

With only five seconds remaining, Richard correctly identified the phrase “Few and far between” displayed in a challenging visual puzzle, securing his total round earnings at £10k. As a result, both Axel and Sian’s winnings doubled from earlier rounds. Axel walked away with £800, while Sian pocketed £6,000, culminating in a total charity donation of £24.2k.

Richard initially gained fame on BBC Radio Carlisle at the age of 19 before transitioning to Granada Reports in the 1980s, where he met his wife Judy Finnigan. The couple later co-hosted “This Morning” from 1988 to 2001 before departing to host their own chat show, “Richard & Judy,” on Channel 4 until 2009. Richard has since appeared as a relief presenter on “Good Morning Britain.”

During a recent appearance on the show, Richard candidly disclosed that he had accrued six points on his license for two speeding offenses. Despite acknowledging his mistakes and the resulting fines, he expressed surprise at receiving three points for each violation.
