Richard Osman has criticized Jeremy Clarkson, calling him a “coward” before the launch of Clarkson’s upcoming book centered around life on Diddly Squat Farm. Clarkson’s book, “Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog,” is scheduled for release later this week as authors vie for the top spot during the Christmas season.
Osman, a successful author known for the “Thursday Murder Club” series, suggested that Clarkson’s decision to release his book closer to Christmas was a strategic move to boost sales. Osman expressed his opinion on his podcast, stating that Clarkson’s timing was a way to increase the chances of securing the Christmas number one spot.
Osman predicted that Charlie Mackesy’s book, “Always Remember,” will likely claim the top spot this Christmas. He also mentioned other potential best-sellers, including celebrity memoirs from notable figures like Sir Anthony Hopkins, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Paul Gascoigne, and Chris McCausland. Additionally, Osman highlighted Susie Wolf’s book “Driven” as a strong contender for holiday sales.
Reflecting on previous successes, Osman noted the popularity of the Guinness World Records book during Christmas and suggested that it could once again be a strong competitor for the top spot. He also mentioned the consistent success of autobiographies from personalities like Guy Martin, known for his shows on Channel 4.
The Mirror sought comments from Jeremy Clarkson’s representatives regarding Osman’s remarks.
