Ruth Langsford recently shared with her followers that she’s feeling unwell due to catching a bout of illness. The television personality from Loose Women updated her health status on Instagram, discussing various methods she’s using to recover.

“Dealing with an illness,” mentioned Ruth, aged 65, to her audience. She expressed hope that her homemade chicken broth and vegetable soup would help her feel better. Additionally, she highlighted different products she’s using while resting in bed, including Just Bee ‘Immunity Honey’, Twinings Superblends Defence tea, Lemsip Max Cold & Flu sachets, Echinaforce drops, and VapoRub on her feet.

In a video, Ruth showed herself applying VapoRub on her feet, stating, “Willing to try anything!” and then preparing for bed by putting on socks. This update comes after Ruth shared about her mother’s ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that also affected her late father. Ruth’s mother, Joan, 94, is currently residing in a care facility near Ruth’s home in Surrey.

Reflecting on her mother’s situation, Ruth mentioned, “She struggles to remember recent events, but she recognizes me in the moment, greeting me as if it’s been a long time since we last met.” She emphasized the challenges of caring for her mother and the lessons learned from her father’s experience with dementia.

Despite her concerns about her own memory lapses, Ruth admitted feeling apprehensive about undergoing testing for dementia. She expressed reluctance towards knowing her susceptibility to the condition due to the lack of a cure, preferring to live her life without the added worry of potential diagnosis.

With both her parents having faced Alzheimer’s, Ruth’s experiences with caregiving and personal health reflections offer insights into her journey of supporting loved ones while navigating her own well-being.
