A shooting incident led to a lockdown at a prominent shopping center in the United States. Law enforcement responded swiftly to Wolfchase Galleria Mall in Cordova, Memphis, Tennessee, following reports of gunfire inside the premises. Witnesses mentioned hearing multiple gunshots before being evacuated from the mall where one person was reportedly injured.

Authorities, including Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers, Shelby County sheriff’s deputies, and Memphis police officers, secured the scene near the Macy’s entrance. The Memphis Police Department confirmed that the situation was contained and clarified that it was not an active shooter scenario. An on-site presence of over two dozen officers from various agencies, along with patrol vehicles blocking mall access, was observed by FOX13.

A shopper recounted the tense moment of hearing what seemed like gunshots upon exiting an elevator, triggering an immediate lockdown before safely leaving the mall. Allegedly, the suspect fled in a white SUV, prompting the mall to lift the lockdown as the individual departed.

While initial reports suggested the victim had succumbed to injuries, official confirmation was pending. However, it was noted that the suspect had been apprehended.
