Ronnie O’Sullivan recently shared his struggles with self-doubt following his defeat in the World Open final against Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. Despite taking an early 4-0 lead, O’Sullivan was outplayed by his Thai opponent, who made a remarkable comeback with a 147-break and three consecutive centuries to secure the victory.

After losing in the final, O’Sullivan, who had previously defeated world No.1 Judd Trump in the semi-finals, missed out on the £175,000 prize and opted out of participating in the upcoming Tour Championship in Manchester. However, he is now focusing on preparing for the Snooker World Championship scheduled to commence on April 18 at the Crucible in Sheffield.

Reflecting on his recent performances, O’Sullivan expressed his struggles with finding his form on the table and his wavering confidence in his abilities. Despite initial doubts, he is now considering participating in the World Championship, acknowledging his improvements in gameplay.

Although acknowledging his opponent’s exceptional performance, O’Sullivan admitted his technical shortcomings and the challenges he faced during the match. Despite not winning a ranking title since January 2024, he remains optimistic about his future in the sport and is determined to continue working on his game to regain his competitive edge.

As O’Sullivan navigates through his current setbacks, he remains focused on taking each day as it comes, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and resilient in the face of challenges.
