The Spice Girls are reportedly using their “rule of four” agreement to prevent Geri Horner, also known as Ginger Spice, from delaying the filming of an upcoming Netflix TV biopic. Geri has allegedly been hesitant for almost a year, while Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C, and Emma Bunton are eager to move forward with the project. The group is prepared to activate the pact, which allows them to proceed if at least four members agree.
To ensure the biopic is released in time for their 30th anniversary next year, the other band members will support the project. Speculation suggests there may be a tour or performance as part of the anniversary celebrations.
Geri, aged 53, is reportedly upset over her husband Christian’s dismissal as the Red Bull F1 team boss following a scandal. The Spice Girls previously applied the rule of four when they toured as a quartet in 2019 without Posh Spice. The band was formed in London in 1994, and their debut album “Spice” was released in 1996, achieving chart-topping success in the UK and the US.
The biopic, focusing on the group’s early years, is in development with Orchid Pictures, a division of Netflix led by producer Suzanne Mackie. It will cover the Spice Girls’ initial success before their split in 2000, during which they secured nine UK number one singles.
The Mirror has reached out to Geri’s representative for a response.
