In a bid to support hospitality businesses grappling with affordability concerns, a new energy-saving initiative is being rolled out. This initiative includes a digital tool that offers tailored plans to reduce energy consumption and emissions for over 525 pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
The effectiveness of this scheme is evident, with some businesses achieving significant reductions in overnight energy usage, translating to substantial savings on energy bills. For instance, a small pub in Caterham saved over £1,500 annually by cutting energy use by 66%, while a pub in Bromley is saving £48 weekly, amounting to almost £2,500 in yearly profits no longer lost to energy waste.
Beyond cost savings, this initiative is also contributing to carbon emission reductions and environmental protection, demonstrating that a move towards net zero can benefit both businesses and the planet. By empowering owners to optimize energy usage, the scheme allows them to focus on customer service and business growth, fostering thriving communities and supporting local economies.
