Aldi has issued an urgent recall for a popular chocolate snack due to concerns about a significant ‘health risk.’ The Food Standards Agency has warned that packs of Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s may contain peanuts, posing a potential hazard to individuals with nut allergies.

Consumers who have purchased this product and have a peanut allergy are advised not to consume it. Instead, they should return it to the store of purchase for a full refund. The recall applies to all 121g packs, regardless of the best before dates. Customers with inquiries about the product are encouraged to contact Aldi customer service for assistance.

In a recall notice released by Aldi, it states: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s due to the potential presence of peanuts. Customers are requested to return the product to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your cooperation.”

Furthermore, a separate urgent recall has been issued for Halloween treats sold in Irish supermarkets such as Lidl and Aldi. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has cautioned that Rose Halloween Spooky Tea Cakes, mistakenly packed with Rose Orchard Tea Cakes, contain egg, an allergen not listed on the packaging.

The FSAI has stated: “The affected batches of Rose Halloween Spooky Tea Cakes were incorrectly packaged with Rose Orchard Tea Cakes, containing egg, a potential allergen not declared on the label. This could pose a risk to consumers allergic or intolerant to eggs, and they are advised not to consume the affected batches. The recalled batches include best-before dates of 28/08/26, 18/09/26, 22/09/26, and 24/09/26.”
