Following a cosmetic surgery trip to Turkey for a “mummy makeover,” a woman expressed her dismay at the outcome, claiming she was left with a severe bacterial infection after being operated on. Anntina Forster, 42, visited Antalya, Turkey, seeking a tummy tuck, breast lift, and liposuction to address excess skin following weight loss from weight-loss injections.
Having lost four dress sizes from her weight-loss injections, Anntina decided to undergo cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. She and her partner, Daniel Brown, traveled to Turkey for the £6,700 procedure, but she woke up post-surgery in severe pain with fluid leaking from her wound.
Despite initial reassurances about her recovery, Anntina’s condition deteriorated, prompting her return to the UK where she was diagnosed with a dangerous E. coli infection, leading to emergency surgery to address the issue. When she raised her concerns with the clinic, their response was dismissive, refusing further assistance and instructing her not to post negative feedback online.
After a hospital stay and undergoing treatment, Anntina emphasized the importance of caution when selecting overseas clinics for medical procedures, highlighting the potential risks involved. Disappointed by the clinic’s lack of empathy and care, she warned others to prioritize proper aftercare and thorough research before opting for cosmetic surgery abroad.
Reflecting on her experience, Anntina, who operates an aesthetics business in Birmingham, regretted undergoing the surgery, emphasizing the traumatic impact it had on her well-being. She urged others to reconsider such procedures, emphasizing the significance of adequate postoperative care and the potential consequences of inadequate medical attention.
Despite the clinic’s attempt to restrict her from sharing negative feedback on social media without an official medical report confirming malpractice, Anntina remained steadfast in her criticism of the clinic’s handling of her case and the lack of accountability demonstrated in her care.
Her story serves as a cautionary reminder of the importance of thorough research, postoperative care, and the potential risks associated with medical procedures abroad, urging individuals to prioritize their well-being and safety when considering cosmetic surgery options.
