A tragic incident unfolded in Sao Lourenco da Mata, Brazil, where the lifeless body of a four-year-old girl, Ester Izabelle, was discovered inside a well. The distressing discovery was made on October 21, with Ester found partially clothed and showing signs of physical trauma. Authorities suspect that Ester was abducted by a man while she was playing near her home in the Pixete neighborhood.
Ester had gone missing the day before while playing with her seven-year-old brother on a nearby football field. Her brother informed their mother after witnessing the abduction by an unknown man. A search effort was immediately launched, and Ester’s body was eventually located submerged in the well at a neighboring property by her uncle.
The police revealed that the well, measuring approximately 3.7 meters (12 feet) deep, was covered with a concrete slab. Ester’s body was found inverted in the well, displaying signs of violence, particularly to her head. Authorities also noted possible indications of sexual assault, with a condom and a chocolate milk wrapper discovered nearby.
Recalling the harrowing discovery, Ester’s uncle, identified as Nazario, described the heart-wrenching moment of finding his niece inverted in the well with only her legs visible. Two individuals residing in the house where the well was situated were taken in for questioning by the police. Reports indicated that the property had been rented for about six months. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding Ester’s tragic death.
