Celebrity Big Brother personality Chris Hughes became emotional while discussing the passing of Liam Payne, who had reached out to him following a confrontation with the paparazzi. The 32-year-old, known for his stint on Love Island in 2017 before joining the Big Brother house this year and meeting his current partner JoJo Siwa, expressed how deeply Liam’s sudden death at 31 in October 2024 affected him.

During an episode of the Question The Default podcast with Harry Corin, Chris revealed the profound impact Liam’s tragic demise, falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, had on him. He struggled to hold back tears as he shared how Liam had supported him during a difficult time, emphasizing the care Liam showed for his mental well-being.

Recalling the moment he learned of Liam’s passing, Chris reflected on the kindness Liam had shown him, acknowledging the significance of his gesture. Despite the lingering anxiety from the paparazzi incident, Chris found strength in Liam’s empathy and credited him for normalizing his feelings during that challenging period.

When asked about coping with fame’s pressures, Chris highlighted his newfound ability to manage stress by engaging in activities that bring him joy, like playing snooker on his phone, golfing, and taking leisurely walks. By prioritizing his mental well-being and focusing on activities that uplift him, Chris has developed healthier coping mechanisms to navigate the demands of public attention.
