The latest rankings have unveiled the leading brands in the UK, with Marks and Spencer emerging as the top brand. Marks and Spencer secured the top position in the YouGov BrandIndex tool, which evaluates various factors such as impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation, and reputation over the past year.

Despite facing a cyber attack in 2025 that disrupted online shopping for several months, Marks and Spencer clinched the top spot. Following closely behind in the top five rankings are IKEA, Samsung, John Lewis, and Netflix.

Post Office stood out as the most improved brand, driven by increased satisfaction levels and enhanced public perception following the Horizon IT scandal. Royal Mail and Fujitsu secured the second and third spots for most improved brands.

On a global scale, WhatsApp claimed the top position in the best brand rankings, particularly excelling in markets like India and Indonesia. Samsung, YouTube, and Google followed closely behind in the global rankings.

CEO and Co-founder of YouGov, Stephan Shakespeare, emphasized the importance of strong brands that establish a connection with consumers. He commended the recognized brands for their enduring consumer appeal over the past year, based on extensive research conducted across multiple markets.

Expressing gratitude for the accolade, M&S CEO Stuart Machin highlighted the importance of customer feedback in shaping the brand’s success. Machin credited the dedicated team at M&S for their hard work and emphasized the continuous drive for improvement and growth.

Looking ahead, Machin expressed a sense of positive discontent, acknowledging the ongoing opportunities for advancement and innovation within the company. The recognition as the UK’s Best Brand for the fourth consecutive year serves as motivation for M&S to strive for even greater achievements in the future.
