A woman who deceived her family and friends by pretending to have a baby has now reportedly left her residence and gone into hiding. Kira Cousins from Airdrie in Scotland faced online backlash after tricking her loved ones into believing a plastic doll was her newborn baby. She went to great lengths, including wearing a fake baby bump for months and simulating a solo birth.

The 22-year-old’s hoax was exposed when her family found out that her supposed daughter, named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce, was actually a lifelike Reborn doll hidden in her bedroom. Upset family members, who had bought gifts for the baby, felt betrayed. To escape the backlash, Kira allegedly fled her home in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, where she lived with her mother.

Concerned individuals are seeking answers from Kira, with one former friend expressing worry about her well-being. Kira had shared images of baby scans and a fancy gender reveal party leading up to the “birth” on October 10. She confessed later that she had fabricated the entire pregnancy, birth story, and even went as far as passing off a doll as a real baby.

Apologizing for her actions, Kira acknowledged the hurt she caused to her friends and family, admitting she was not in a good mental state. She expressed regret and emphasized her commitment to seeking help to overcome her issues. Neave McRobert, a close acquaintance, revealed suspicions arose when Kira prevented anyone from touching the “baby” and had inconsistencies in her stories about the doll’s health.

Screenshots of conversations between Neave and Kira, as well as images of the doll, were circulated online, exposing the deception. Neave recounted feeling deceived and used, along with others who fell victim to Kira’s elaborate charade.
