A man aged 57 was swiftly taken to the hospital after being struck by a falling object in Piccadilly Circus, London. An air ambulance made an emergency landing in Trafalgar Square in response to the incident that occurred around 2.27 pm on Coventry Street.

According to a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, emergency services are addressing an issue on Coventry Street, W1, following reports of a masonry piece falling from a building and hitting the man. The injured individual is currently under the care of the London Ambulance Service and will soon be transported to the hospital by London’s Air Ambulance. The extent of his injuries is yet to be determined, and caution is advised for people to steer clear of the area.

The London Ambulance Service reported that they received a call on Tuesday, the 28th, at 2.27 pm regarding an injured person in Coventry Street, London, W1. Their response included ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and London’s air ambulance. After initial treatment at the scene, the man was transferred to a London major trauma center.

An eyewitness recounted to LBC that the object knocked the man down, causing a severe head injury with significant bleeding. The specific object that fell on the man remains unidentified at this time.

As a precaution, the vicinity has been cordoned off for safety measures.
