Scottie Scheffler has recently achieved a significant milestone by entering the exclusive $100 million club alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The current world No.1 has showcased his dominance early in the season with a commanding victory at The American Express tournament, signaling his strong contention for this year’s Major championships.

Despite a setback last year due to a hand injury caused by a broken wine glass during Christmas festivities, Scheffler has kicked off 2026 in stellar form. His remarkable performance in California, finishing with a six-under 66 for a total of 27-under par, secured him a comfortable four-shot win. This triumph marked his 20th victory on the PGA Tour within the last four years, earning him a lifetime membership and a prize of $1.656 million.

With this win, Scheffler’s on-course earnings have surpassed $101 million, placing him in the esteemed company of Woods and McIlroy as the only golfers to exceed nine figures in earnings on the PGA Tour. At 29 years old, Scheffler has also joined the elite ranks of Woods and Jack Nicklaus by achieving 20 PGA Tour titles and four major wins before turning 30.

Reflecting on his success, Scheffler expressed humility and gratitude for being mentioned alongside golfing legends like Woods. His remarkable consistency on the tour, highlighted by his 11 more wins than McIlroy since his first victory in 2022, underscores his exceptional talent and determination.

Former world No.1 Jason Day, who finished as a joint runner-up, acknowledged Scheffler’s impressive performance, likening his achievements to those of Tiger Woods. Day emphasized the difficulty of maintaining hunger and motivation in the face of success, a challenge Scheffler seems to be mastering.

Looking ahead, Scheffler remains focused on continual improvement, believing he can raise his game further despite a slow start last season. The young golfer’s ambition and dedication signal a promising future as he gears up for the upcoming Masters tournament.

In a notable moment during the tournament, teenager Blades Brown, who played alongside Scheffler in the final group, expressed awe and admiration for the champion’s performance. Brown’s experience of witnessing Scheffler’s victory firsthand left a lasting impression, underscoring the impact of Scheffler’s remarkable talent on emerging players in the sport.
