Prince Andrew is set to lose all his Royal titles and honors, including the title of ‘prince’, as announced by King Charles. Buckingham Palace recently disclosed that the disgraced Royal will now be recognized as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Consequently, he will be compelled to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge, previously shared with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Andrew had previously relinquished the use of his other titles, such as the Duke of York, amid growing scrutiny regarding his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, allegations vehemently refuted by Andrew.

In a significant development, Buckingham Palace declared, “His Majesty has formally initiated the process of revoking Prince Andrew’s Style, Titles, and Honors.” The statement continued, “Prince Andrew will adopt the name Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. While his lease on Royal Lodge had allowed him to remain on the premises, formal notice has now been served for him to vacate and find alternative private accommodation. These actions are deemed necessary despite his continued denial of the accusations against him.”

Their Majesties underscored their support for the victims and survivors of abuse amidst the ongoing situation. It is anticipated that Andrew will relocate from his Windsor residence to a property on the private Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, with King Charles privately funding this transition.

Reportedly, Andrew did not contest the King’s decision and received support from Prince William in making personal choices. The relocation is expected to happen promptly, with the King providing appropriate private provisions for Andrew, while other financial matters will be handled by the former duke.

Notably, Andrew’s daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, will retain their royal titles due to their lineage as descendants of a Sovereign’s child, aligning with King George V’s Letters Patent of 1917. Discussions between Andrew and the King’s representatives about his voluntary departure from the Royal Lodge had been ongoing, particularly concerning the minimal rent paid for the property during his two-decade stay.

As Prince Andrew undergoes the removal of his titles, the Mirror has introduced a dedicated Royal WhatsApp community to deliver the latest updates and exclusives on the British Royal Family directly to users’ phones. Prior to the announcement, Members of Parliament had raised inquiries about the rental agreement for the Royal Lodge. The Public Accounts Committee requested an explanation for the lease of the lavish property, highlighting public interest in the expenditure of public funds related to Prince Andrew, particularly in light of the serious allegations against him.
