Former President Donald Trump strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s administration and condemned the attack on two White House guards as a grave offense. Trump referred to Biden as the worst president in U.S. history, accusing him of allowing 20 million unidentified foreigners into the country.
Speaking about the tragic incident that took place on November 26th, Trump described it as an evil act of terror against the nation. He expressed solidarity with the two West Virginia National Guard members who were shot, emphasizing the nation’s sorrow and anger.
Trump vowed to ensure that the perpetrator of the heinous act faces severe consequences. He identified the suspect as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national brought into the U.S. by the Biden administration in September 2021. Lakanwal, who had served in the Afghan Army, spent time in Kandahar before relocating to the United States.
A relative of the suspect, who served alongside him in Afghanistan, expressed shock at the turn of events, highlighting their shared experiences facing threats from the Taliban. Trump criticized the previous administration for allowing millions of unidentified foreigners into the country, emphasizing the need to reassess individuals entering from Afghanistan and remove those deemed a risk.
Despite the tragedy, an Afghan advocacy group emphasized that the incident should not lead to the isolation or harm of Afghan resettlers in America. In response to the attack, Trump deployed an additional 500 soldiers to enhance security in the capital and pledged to bring the attacker to justice.
