Actor Dylan Walsh from the series “Heated Rivalry” caused a stir when he hinted at the possibility of filming twelve new episodes, sparking speculation among fans about potential multiple seasons. The 62-year-old American actor shared this information in a video on Cameo, a platform where celebrities create personalized videos for a fee. A TikTok user named Savannah Leigh reposted the video, which she received as a birthday gift.

In the video, Walsh, who portrays the father of hockey player Shane Hollander (played by Canadian actor Hudson Williams), expressed his affection for the show and hinted at filming additional episodes in Canada. He mentioned, “I love doing Heated Rivalry. I didn’t really do much in it, but I’m proud to be in it, and I wish every dad was as cool as Shane’s dad. [The] world would be a better place. Anyway, [I’m] getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes. So, I think we’re doing 12 this time.”

However, Walsh later apologized and temporarily halted his Cameo account after realizing his remarks may have caused confusion among fans and the production team. He clarified in a statement to CBC News that he spoke spontaneously and lacked official information to confirm the production schedule or episode count.

In addition to his role in “Heated Rivalry,” Walsh has appeared in various TV series and films, including “Nip/Tuck,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Superman & Lois,” “Congo” (1995), and “The Stepfather” (2009). The news of potential new episodes comes amidst heightened fan interest in the Canadian show, available on Bell Media’s streaming platform, Crave.

Following Walsh’s video, social media buzzed with speculation about the show’s future production, with some fans theorizing about the possibility of a third season. The first season of “Heated Rivalry” consisted of six episodes, and series creator Jacob Tierney previously expressed a preference for concise seasons in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Based on the Game Changers series by Canadian author Rachel Reid, “Heated Rivalry” narrates the clandestine romantic relationship between rival hockey players Shane Hollander and Iyla Rozanov (portrayed by American actor Connor Storrie). The show garnered critical acclaim, winning awards like the Peabody Award and the Canadian Screen Award for best drama series. Crave renewed the series for a second season shortly after its initial release.

Filming for the second season mainly occurs in Toronto and Montreal, as indicated on the Production List industry website. Recently, Crave Canada announced five new cast members for the upcoming season, generating excitement among fans and the cast alike.
